InSite Connect, LLC is focused on providing high quality backhaul services that are more reliable, flexible and scalable than what is generally available from other providers.

InSite Connect, LLC (“InSite Connect”) owns 80% of Western States Teleport, Inc. (“WST”), which was founded in 2001 and has been a major provider of telecommunications backhaul to all of the wireless carriers in the greater San Francisco area. InSite Connect has offices in Oakland, California and Alexandria, Virginia, and currently operates with its partner WST an extensive microwave/fiber network in the greater San Francisco area and is continually expanding to meet the specific needs of wireless carriers.

people inside airport This strategic collaboration provides over 400 miles of FCC licensed digital microwave network in and around the San Francisco Bay Area and along the central coast of California. Most network sites are located on mountain tops or tall buildings and are connected to fiber at several points in the network. The network was originally designed and built to Bellcore standards mandating an 8 hour minimum battery backup, with standby generators located at many sites. In 1989 the network withstood the Loma Prieta earthquake with no outages. The Company has positioned itself as an access provider specializing in getting bandwidth to hard-to-serve or underserved areas. Customers served on this network include wireless carriers, enterprises, competitive phone companies and governmental entities.

Currently the Company provides primary T-1 service for Verizon Wireless, Cingular Wireless, T-Mobile, and Sprint/Nextel. Other customers include Aeronautical Radio, National Weather Service, Hearst Broadcasting, and Telepacific Communications. Some customers use the network as their alternative route to ensure maximum network availability for call centers and inbound 800 sales centers.

The existing network infrastructure allows easy provisioning of T-1 and DS-3 capacity at every location and some locations allow for provisioning of OC-3. Technicians have the ability to test and monitor circuits remotely which reduces restoration time, and the need to dispatch. The network is monitored at the company’s Oakland operations center where all alarms from “housekeeping” to equipment are logged for repair as necessary. This allows for network availability greater than 99.99%.
